On the road: Addo & Garden Route
If there is one region in South Africa that has it all it’s probably the Garden Route and surroundings. With rocky coastlines and sandy beaches backed by mountains and lush rainforests. Just behind those mountains starts the vast and dry Karoo and there’s nearby Addo Elephant National Park if you somehow still manage to get bored by the landscapes and long for wildlife gazing. A park that lives up to its name btw, we saw probably over 60 elephants of all sizes on just one day. But Addo Warthog National Park would’ve been an appropriate name too :).
The region is so diverse that I could easily spend several weeks here with my camera. The only downside of those lush, rainforesty mountains: it can rain… a lot ;). And there are still so many other places to see as well, so now we’re headed to the drier inlands once again!
