Scotland boasts some of the most spectacular wild scenery of Western Europe and as such it's a favourite among many landscape photographers, myself included. While autumn is one of the rainiest periods in one of the rainiest regions of the UK, it's hard to beat the beauty of the Scottish light in this season. Whenever the clouds open up for the briefest moment, the whole landscape will be illuminated by beautiful soft golden sunlight. Together with countless photogenic remote lochs and mountains, it's not difficult to see why Scotland is regarded as such a perfect destination for landscape photographers and outdoor enthusiasts alike.
